Yup, you read that right. The recent discovery of the benefits of upping your salt intake and inhaling (while being immersed in the atmosphere) of newly designed ‘salt caves' is actually good for your health and is now a hugely popular treatment with new salt ‘caves' popping up around the world.
These caves are actually a new form of climatherapy for people who suffer with respiratory problems and the first one in Ireland was set up in Maynooth just over two years ago. The cave is said to recreate the conditions of a salt mine and medical studies have revealed they are extremely beneficial for anyone suffering with asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia or for anyone who has sniffed or sneezed their way through this past summer with hay fever.
