I've been having plenty of opportunities these last few weeks to practice on my Christmas party make up looks and whilst I'm not hugely experimental when it comes to looking festive and I tend to steer clear from glitter and sparkle, I still think we all need a little something extra to glam up our usual looks at Christmas time and one thing I am all a-flutter about is false eyelashes!

Nu Essence Beauty Salon on South Anne St, have taken the recession in hand and have noticed that although we all have a little less funding these days to spoil ourselves with, our health and beauty is something no woman wants to have to sacrifice on -especially in the depths of winter when our skin is screaming for a little TLC. So they're meeting us half way, with something they call the REAL city deal.
The Real City Deal is exclusive to Nu Essence and every two weeks, they launch a new special offer on one of their popular treatments. They announce the offer on a giant blackboard outside their salon just off Grafton St (such a handy location!), as well as on their Facebook page and website.
The salon launched their current deal just yesterday, where they are offering customers Dermalogica facials for an amazing €25 and the offer is running until Christmas Eve! So I popped in yesterday afternoon to check out their special offers and can promise you that even with the huge savings, Nu Essence do not compromise on their quality or professionalism and today my skin is feeling revived, refreshed and ready to take on the festive season!

Let's face it, this time of year nobody expects you to have a healthy natural summer glow. But there's just nothing worse than pulling on that little black dress for your Christmas do' when your poor Irish arms and legs are paler than that snow outside! So we have two options - take a winter sun break which none of us can afford, or take a walk down Fake Street. I for one will be taking myself up on the second - healthier and cheaper - option; I will be faking it.
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with fake tans. I love the glow it gives my skin and I feel more confident in anything I wear when my skin isn't too pale. But once it starts to wear off it looks patchy and clogs up my skin which can cause me to break out. So when I heard about the newest range of sunless tanning products- Rockstar Tan, I figured I had nothing to lose! And well, so far it rocks.
